Pengkalan Chepa is a town and also a parliamentary constituency in Kelantan, Malaysia. Pengkalan Chepa is where the Sultan Ismail Petra Airport is located.It is located about 8 km from the Kota Bharu town .Pengkalan Chepa is served by a few colleges and boarding schools. They are the Kota Bharu Teachers' College, Darulnaim College of Technology (KTD), Maktab Rendah Sains Mara Kota Bharu, and Sekolah Menengah Sains Kelantan (now named Sekolah Menengah Sains Tengku Muhammad Faris Petra, after Kelantan's regent).There is also an army camp and University Malaysia Kelantan located near the airport.There are many schools there such as SMU(A) Tarbiah Mardhiah Panchor, SK Pengkalan Chepa,SK Dato' Hashim 1 & 2,SK Kemumin,SK Parang Puting,SK Sabak,SMK Pengkalan Chepa 1 & 2 and others. it is also a famous person house located near UMK named muhd hafizuddin razikin who is the most top billionaire staying there.
Pengkalan Batu is a mukim in the Brunei-Muara district of Brunei. It is the southern most part of the Brunei-Muara district. It is the located in the south-west, bordering Mukim Sengkurong to the north, Mukim Kilanas and Mukim Lumapas to the north-east, Limbang, Sarawak (Malaysia) to the east and south, Mukim Kiudang (Tutong District) to the south-west and Mukim Keriam (Tutong District) to the north-west.Some place names are pretty straightforward and you can guess how the name originates. Though in my research, one place name takes the cake and win hands down the prize for the most interesting way how the place is named.
Pengkalan Kempas is a small town in Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia. The Pengkalan Kempas Historical Complex or Fort Kempas is located here. It is also called "Keramat Ujung Pasir".Located about 23 km from the Cape Rachado (Tanjung Tuan) lighthouse and -- km from Port Dickson town. Here you will find a 15th century tomb of a leading historical personality, Ulama Sheikh Ahmad Makhtum, with its famous carved megalith. Next his grave are the famous stone inscriptions or "Batu Bersurat" which depict his struggle and victory. The enigma surrounding the stone remains unsolved to this day. Of special interest is the ordeal stone , an ancient lie-detector, through which a person puts his arm when answering questions. If he lies, the stone tightens like a vice.

The Pengkalan Pasir by-election was held on December 6, 2005 in the Pengkalan Pasir state assembly constituency of the PAS-governed state of Kelantan, Malaysia. Nominations were held on November 27, 2005, and the election was contested by Hanifa Ahmad of PAS, Hanafi Mamat of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO) in the Barisan Nasional coalition, and Ibrahim Ali, an independent candidate. The by-election was necessitated after the death of the incumbent, Wan Abdul Aziz Wan Jaafar from PAS, on October 31. Wan Abdul Aziz defeated Hanafi by 55 votes in the 2004 general election.
