Language has a vital playing role in political communication. The media acts as a platform for information dissemination. The meaning behind of newspapers' text of election 2018 in Malaysia and Pakistan is analyzed by employing theory of Norman Fairclough (1995) of Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) on news reports of 'Malaysiakini', 'The New Straits Times' (independent and mainstream online newspapers from Malaysia), 'Dawn' and 'The News' (as independent and mainstream online newspapers from Pakistan). Social actors in Malaysia, 'Dr.Mahathir Mohamad' and 'Najib Razak', whereas, 'Imran Khan' and 'Nawaz Sharif' in Pakistan have played their active role as per the most popular political parties in their own countries in 2018 elections. By the transitivity analysis (2014) of text, the liberal portrayal of social actors is found in independent newspapers as compared to mainstream online newspapers in both countries.

The DOUBLE Colonisation

Indians in Malaysia sit on a disadvantaged sociological level in the Asian ethnic structure. Further to this are the gay Indian men who face the brunt of colonialism tragically inherited in these times. This book examines the "queer" state of racialised Indian men in Malaysia, through the postcolonial and contemporary epoch, and in relation to specific discourses on the politics of race, oppression and desire, and nonconforming sexualities including fluid gender identities which are attached to these bodies. The study also analyses cultural, historical and anthropological texts which demonstrate the marginalised nature of Indians, while selected literary texts are employed to expose the 'amputations' inflicted upon the 'black' body, with a brief analysis of the political and social shortfalls. Essentially the "double colonisation" of queer racialised Indian men in Malaysia will come to light through this seminal work of literary and gay social media discourses.

(De)Humanization Analyses

As observed by many scholars, electoral politics in Malaysia is conducted along ethnic lines. With reference to the recent 2013 general elections, it witnessed a further erosion of racial relations between, especially, the Malays and the Chinese. The exchange of words has been recorded integrally in the print media, the media were in the front line to raise issues, disseminate information, as well as to influence voters' decisions. Hence, the current study is designed to investigate the humanization and dehumanization features in the performance of actors from two notable ethnicities, the Chinese and the Malays by going through a semiotic analysis on their viewpoints and comments about each other in two mainstream print media in Malaysia: the New Straits Times and the Sin Chew Daily. The linguistic fragments were culled from both dailies published two weeks before and after the 13th Malaysia general elections. As a result, four elements have been scrutinized and it is revealed that both actors employed enormous factuality and high identification signs, a small quantity of hedging devices, and a larger proportion of distrust performatives than trust performatives.
